The 32nd Annual Art on the Green Festival on the campus of North Idaho College August 4, 5, and 6, 2000 is a production of the Citizen's Council for the Arts.  Festival highlights include; 135 artists-in-action booths, arts and crafts for sale, entertainment, Juried Show Exhibit with special outdoor gallery, creative art sections for children and adults, young artists booths, and more.  A great place to buy fine art and other handcrafted works in glass, clay, leather, wood, metal, and fiber directly from the artist.

The Juried Show attracts artists from throughout the country for exhibition to be juried by a panel of professional artists, in two categories; painting, photography, drawing; and sculpture, pottery, fibers, glass.  And, offers nearly $5000 in purchase prizes and awards.

The Citizen's Council for the Arts is a non-profit group whose mission is to encourage, promote and support the arts in the community.  Consisting of more than 500 volunteers the CCA sponsors community art projects; Art Shop, Art-in-the-Schools, Lake City Writer's Camp, Summer Art Institute, and a Gallery at North Idaho College.  Co-sponsors Spokane Symphony and "Symfunnies" and Coeur d'Alene Youth Orchestra.  Makes donations of art work to North Idaho College, public buildings and local schools.  And, creates, produces and supports Art on the Green.

Similar activities take place in other locations including the Coeur d'Alene Cultural Center, Art Along the Tracts, City Park, and on downtown Sherman Ave, which is closed to vehicle traffic for the weekend.
